Only one pear provides about 24% of recommended daily intake of fiber. High fiber intake lowers blood pressure and cholesterol level, and lowers the risk of developing diabetes.
Consuming pears may help with weight loss, since they are low-calorie but high-fiber fruit, providing only 59 calories per 100g (3.5oz).
